The Book Donation Unit carries out the process of acquiring books through donation, one of the collection development methods of the Atatürk Library.

The unit receives books donated by individuals or institutions, conducts all communication with the donors, and examines and classifies the donated books.

Donated books are evaluated in two categories: books to be included in the collections of the Atatürk Library and affiliated branch libraries, and books to be included in the Book Sharing Program. Books to be included in the former are classified and made ready for cataloguing. Books evaluated for the latter are sent to the requesting libraries by cargo after the classification and packaging is carried out.
