The Atatürk Library provides service to researchers with its two quiet study halls and two offices. We do not have an appointment system for quiet study halls.
You can apply to our library and check in according to the availability of the reading halls. Co-working offices are available for researchers by making an appointment. You can send an e-mail to ofisrezervasyon@ibb.gov.tr for an appointment.
You can borrow books by becoming a member of any IMM library. After becoming a member, you can benefit from all IMM libraries.
You are able to borrow 3 books at a time from any library affiliated to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Directorate of Libraries and Museums, within a 1-month period and a 15-day extension right.
When you become a member a library account is created in your name.
With your library account you can see the books you have borrowed, extend the lending periods, and make reservations. You are able to extend the borrowing period of a book up until 3 days before their return dates.
To login to your library account, click the Login tab at https://katalog.ibb.gov.tr/. If you have not set a password, you can set and find out your password via SMS and email from the "I Forgot My Password / I Didn't Set My Password" field.
In order to extend the period of the work and find out the return dates, you can reach the extension numbers from our libraries.
If a borrowed book is damaged, the same or a newer edition of the book should be purchased and delivered to the library. You will not be able to borrow from the library until the book is replaced.

Magazines cannot be borrowed, but can be viewed in the library.
Yes! Fill in one of the work receipts, which are available at the Atatürk Library’s counter, with the following details: “fixture, author's name, name of the work, year, and "name, surname, phone number, signature" and deliver it to the library officer. The work will be requested from the storage and delivered to the reader based on the elevator time. However, if the work is classified as "Non-lendable", it can only be reviewed in the library.
They can be examined until the end of the elevator time.

To view the Atatürk Library's manuscripts collection, you can click the detailed search section at katalog.ibb.gov.tr, select Atatürk Library from the library section, click its mark, enter the keywords about the subject, and access information about the resources and their current status. If, you find a work you wish to use, fill in the Work Request Form from this link and send it to us to be evaluated.
