Born as a visual communication tool, the postacrds in the Safiye Hüseyin Elbi's collection evoke the feeling of traveling through time. The collection also includes images of soldiers during the war, portraits of people, photographs of children, images of the streets, and historical buildings in various locations such as Istanbul, Bursa, Ankara, Antalya, Edirne, and İzmir as well as international cities like London, Italy, Paris, Berlin, Germany. Other images depict scenes from theater plays, animal photos, Istanbul landscapes, the Izmir fair, and Selimiye mosque.
Safiye Elbi (1992-1964) served as a nurse in the Balkan War, World War I and in many parts of the country. She also worked in the Hilali-Ahmer Society.
